1
sample for BTEX did not detect benzene at a detection limit of lA pg/L- On November 18,
1994, MW-5 was resampled and analyzed for TPH-g and BTEX compounds with non-detect
reported for TPH-g (t0 05 pg/L) and for all BTEX compounds (<0.5 pg/L). Analyses of
groundwater samples collected from MW-1, MW-2, on October 18, 1994, were non detect for
' TPH-d, TPH-g and BTEX compounds.
' It is recommended that two more quarters of groundwater sampling/analyses be
performed on Wells MW-1, MW-2, MW-3, and MW-5. Also, the stockpiled soil at 1320 West
' Weber Street needs to be sampled and analyzed to confirm that the soil remediation is
complete If the analytical data from the future groundwater samples show that no significant
groundwater quality impacts are associated with the former petroleum releases at the site, and
' the stockpiled soils analyses confirm completion of remediation, a full closure report will be
prepared according to Appendix B of the "Tri-Regional Board Staff Recommendations for
' Preliminary Investigation and Evaluation of Underground Tank Sites Requests for Closure."
' A plan for sampling and analysis of the stockpiled soil at 1320 West Weber Street will
be submitted for approval in the near future.
5.0 LIMITATIONS
The observations and conclusions presented in this report involve professional
' judgement based on the information available to us, much of which was generated by other
consultants In general, due to the extreme variability in subsurface conditions and the limited
number of sampling/monitoring points practically available relative to the large volume of
' subsurface materials on any site, no conclusions can be made with 100% certainty. However,
,
we are confident in our conclusions based on the information available to us
rft=0M=+ -rPt 14
