Union .Ice Company - Union Street, Stockton '
Phase II Site Assessment - Report of Findings
Page 3
s „
Total lead was analyzed for the samples -collected at the 20, 40 and 55
r foot levels in the boring and all of the samples were "none detected"
(Appendix D).
r
4.0 CONCLUSIONS & RECOMMENDATIONS
4.1 Tank #4 Area
The present investigation shows that some soil contaminated with oil/grease and Effla
dieselremains below the sitap:f tank #4 (Figure 3 and Appendix B).
It is recommended that the area be re-excavated to remove the oil/grease
contamination and the excavation .filled with clean fill maternal. The excavated
soils will be disposed of at an appropriate disposal facility based on analyses of
the excavated soil. Any minor contamination, which remains after the re-
excavation, should be left in place.
1 .
4.2 Tank #3 Area
Minor amounts of contamination were left on one wall and one area of the
bottom of the remedial excavation in the Tank #3 area. However, the soil
samples from MW-1 show that only low levels of Toluene are detectable '
adjacent to the excavation site. In addition, one (1) round of water sampling in
the well shows that the groundwater is not impacted (Figure 4 and Appendix
D)
It is recommended that, if another quarterly sampling event of MW-1 is "none
detected", the well should be destroyed and the remaining minor contamination
left in place.
1
P r
