Section 2 . 0oundwater Monitoring Well Installation <br /> 2.3 HEALTH AND SAFETY PLAN <br /> 2.3.1 PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT <br /> Risk of exposure to hazardous chemical or biological agents is minimal. Although the exposure <br /> risk is small, the work crew shall avoid skin contact with the soils and splash with fluid from <br /> borings or completed monitoring wells. The practice of good personal hygiene by crew is <br /> warranted and will further reduce the exposure risk. Affected areas of the body shall be washed <br /> with clean soapy water followed by a clean water rinse. <br /> Level D personal protection equipment comprising of a standard work uniform(coveralls, hard <br /> hat, steel-toed boots, safety glasses, hearing protection, etc.) shall be in practice during work at <br /> the site. <br /> 2.3.2 EMERGENCY PROCEDURES <br /> The telephone numbers of the appropriate entities to be contacted in case of emergency are as <br /> follows: <br /> Ripon Police Department: Emergency 911;Non-emergency (209) 599-2102 <br /> Fire Department: Emergency 911; Non-emergency (209) 599-4209 <br /> The nearest trauma center or emergency medical facility is: <br /> Doctors Hospital <br /> 1205 E North St, <br /> Manteca, CA <br /> (209) 239-2728 <br /> 2.4 REGULATORY PERMITS <br /> Prior to drilling,permits will be obtained for well construction from the San Joaquin County <br /> Environmental Health Department: <br /> San Joaquin County, Environmental Health Department <br /> 304 E. Weber Avenue, Third Floor <br /> Stockton, California 95202-2708 <br /> Phone: (209) 468-3442 <br /> Fax: (209) 468-3433 <br /> 2.5 MONITORING WELL DESIGN <br /> The monitoring wells will be drilled with a truck mounted hollow stem auger drilling rig <br /> advancing an 8-inch nominal diameter borehole to the target depth. Soil samples will be <br /> collected from the boring as a"continuous core", where site conditions permit, and logged <br /> according to the Unified Soil Classification System.
