J <br /> contaminated soil stockpiling cost at a basic volume of 500 cubic yards of material to <br /> be stockpiled and then a per yard cost for any additional material to be handled and <br /> stockpiled. <br /> i <br /> Task 4: Excavation Backfill <br /> i <br /> The excavation backfill operations can proceed once permission has been received <br /> from PHSEHD. Backfill operations will be under tie direction of Raney Geotechnical <br /> Inc. (Raney). Native fill will be obtained by the contractor from the field on the Hi <br /> Hopes property located immediately south of the xcavation. Native soil will have all <br /> large wood and brush removed prior to transport into the excavation. The soil will be <br /> placed in the excavation in lifts approximately 6 ir rhes thick and compacted to 95% of <br /> field density oras directed by the Raney soils engineer. <br /> It is anticipated that the portion of the excavation hat extends from 20 feet to 35 feet <br /> below ground surface will be backfilled and compacted with a portable or remote <br /> controlled compactor so that no personnel will be at the base of the excavation. Once <br /> backfill has been placed to within 5 feet of the floor of the main excavation wheeled <br /> compactor equipment can be used to attain the 9.5% or as directed maximum field <br /> density. <br /> It is anticipated that the contractor will need to provide all necessary water from a water <br /> truck. No water will be available on site. Water may be obtained from the City of Lodi <br /> or from San Joaquin County Department of Public Works. <br /> Contractor will bid the backfill operations on a tim a and materials basis using the <br /> following equipment: (1) excavator; (2) front end I ader, (3) water truck, and (4) <br /> compactor. Bid will be based on equipment hourly or daily cost and on standby cost. <br /> Contractor must understand that compaction may require more additional effort than is <br /> anticipated but that the Raney soil engineer will have final authority on the completion <br /> of grading and compaction. <br /> 3 <br />
