tNC
7.0 CONCLUSIONS AND RECOMMENDATIONS
The conclusions that WZI has determined are as follow
1 Gasoline impacted soil was found to be present beneath the former location
of the underground gasoline fuel tank (Tank#1) located in the former main
yard of the Hi Hopes property Gasoline impacted soil was found to be
present in the shallow subsurface over a surface area of approximately
4,900 square feet to a maximum depth of approximately 43 feet below
ground surface The average gasoline and fuel component concentrations
of the core area of the impacted soil immediately below the former tank
location is estimated to have ranged from approximately 100 to 1,000
mg/kg based on soil samples collected from the exploratory soil borings and
excavation sidewalls and floor
2 The groundwater well adjacent to the former tank site has not been impacted
by soil hydrocarbon compounds The domestic water well was sampled and
the water sample submitted to a California certified analytical laboratory
The sample was analyzed using USEPA Test Method 8015 (modified) for
total petroleum hydrocarbon as gasoline fuel and Test Method 524 2 for
benzene, toluene, ethyl benzene, and xylene In addition, the sample was
analyzed for MTBE using USEPA Test Method 524 2 All results from the
water sample were reported by the laboratory as below analytical detection
limas
3 The approximate 150 cubic yards of gasoline impacted soil left in place in
the subsurface does not pose a threat to the local groundwater and may be
left in place without further investigation as determined by a leaching
potential analysis
• 08220010 011 37
