Goldstein <br /> Technical Director <br /> Chemical Packaging Division <br /> Georgia-Pacific Corporation <br /> 760 South Vail Avenue <br /> Montebello, California 90640 11-39-2092-05/1 <br /> Subject: Summary of Groundwater Cleanup <br /> Operations, from August through <br /> Early October, 1985 <br /> Dear Mr. Goldstein: <br /> This letter presents a summary of the results of operation of the <br /> groundwater cleanup system and events related to its operation at the <br /> Georgia-Pacific Chemical Packaging plant in Tracy, California, from <br /> August 6 to October 7 , 1985. A summmary of groundwater cleanup <br /> operations prior to August 6 was presented in our August 14 , 1985 , <br /> letter to you. The following sections of this letter describe <br /> actions taken during the groundwater cleanup process , including <br /> meetings with the City of Tracy, installation of three additional <br /> monitoring wells, and continued groundwater monitoring. The last <br /> section of this letter briefly describes modeling of the groundwater <br /> system in the vicinity of the stormwater basin. <br /> Meetings With the City of Tracy <br /> At the request of the City of Tracy, Brown and Caldwell participated <br /> in two community meetings. During these meetings, we presented <br /> information to and answered questions from persons living in the <br /> Sycamore Village subdivision north of the Georgia-Pacific plant <br /> regarding the chloroform in the shallow groundwater. In addition to <br /> the City of Tracy and Brown and Caldwell personnel and the general <br /> public, personnel from the Department of Health Services , Regional <br /> Water Quality Control Board (RWQCB) , and Georgia-Pacific participated <br /> in the meetings.
