Mr. Michael T. Goldstein
October 14 , 1985
Page 4
Groundwater Model
At the request of Georgia-Pacific, we modeled the 'distribution and
define the extent of chloroform in the groundwater in the vicinity of
the basin. The model used was Random Walk, written by T.A. Prickett
and others. This is a two-dimensional model capable of simulating
nonsteady flow, artificial recharge, recovery well operation, and
varying chemical concentrations entering any part of the modeled
region. Calibration, operation , and results of the use of the model
will be discussed in a separate letter.
We appreciate the opportunity of working with Georgia-Pacific on this
groundwater cleanup. If you have any questions, please contact us.
Very truly yours,
BROWN AND CALDWELL
/J K 0 ( ' i
Thomas K. Wheeler
Project Manager
Glen M.
