Page I of 2
Mike Infurna [EH]
From: Dennis Leikam [dennisl@olives.com]
Sent: Wednesday, June 11, 2008 10:45 AM
To: Mike Infurna [EH]
Subject: RE: WC-3
Attachments: Proposed Well Locations.jpg
The boring yesterday was PDB-1 (proposed deep boring 1) shown on Fig. 20 of the workplan. It was
supposed to be dry to 165 feet, then we were going to grout the hole back up, we just wanted core
samples (no well was intended). They hit a zone of water at about 60 feet, which was a surprize, so we
are installing a well at that location. We needed to complete the primary objective still of going to 165
feet and collecting core samples, so we moved over 5 feet and started drilling again. Yesterday, Frank
did nothing with the shallow well, he just left the augers in the hole and let water seep into the boring
while they started over on the 165 foot boring. This well is going to be called MW-29.
Here are the construction spec's for the well and the boring:
MW-29:
Total depth=75'
Backfill 1/4 bentonite TR 30 pellets=75-71' (2 buckets)
Screen from 60-70 (0.01" SCH 40 machine slot)
Sand from 71-58' (#2/12 clean sand 4X100 Ib bags)
Transition seal from 58-56 (3/8 bentonite chips, 1 50 Ib bag)
Surface seal from 56 - 0 (19 X 94 Ib bags portland type 1/II cement)
Blank casing - 0 - 60 (SCH 40 PVC)
Monument-4"X 5' steel, 3'above ground, 2' below ground (stovepipe monument)
PDB-1:
Total depth=160'
Backfill plug from 160-137' (sealed off water zone at bottom, 1/4" bentonite pellets TR30. 14 buckets)
Surface seal from 137-0 (45 bags cement, same type as above)
Well Cluster 3 (WC3) is on Figure 19, in Study Area 2. 1 attached a map, but it should also be in the
workplan.
let me know if you need anything else. you say jump, I say how high.
Dennis
From: Mike Infurna [EH] [mailto:MInfurna@sjcehd.com]
Sent: Wednesday,June 11, 2008 10:17 AM
To: Dennis Leikam
Subject: WC-3
Dennis,
I can't find the location of this well on any map...
I found PDW-1 on parcel 251-320-06, but no WC-3...
send me an updated map that shows WHERE this well is...
no map..no issue.
6/11/2008
