Additional wells are required to ensure that monitoring meets
minimum standards for detection of potential releases per Title 27. A full-scale inspection of liner system and LCRS
system is necessary due to age of surface impoundments. WDRs require periodic cleaning and inspection to ensure
capacity of original design. This is even more important since operations have more than doubled at the facility since
1996 WDRs were adopted for the Class 11 Surface Impoundments. Please ensure that checklist comments are
addressed in subsequent reports.
Sent previous letter, dated 11 September 2003,requesting Report of Waste Discharge (ROWD)to be submitted by
1 January 2004.
Attached cover letter requests Musco submit scope of work and schedule for several areas of concern by 1 October
2003.
RWQCB Staff Signature: a/Cy,a/_
Date: — ee —
