WASTE DISCHARGE REQUIREMENTS ORDER NO. -9-
MUSCO FAMILY OLIVE COMPANY AND THE STUDLEY COMPANY
WASTEWATER TREATMENT AND LAND DISPOSAL FACILITY
SAN JOAQUIN COUNTY
1999,the water quality in the well is as summarized in the table below:
Constituent Units Ranee Average Standard Average lus two
Deviation Std Deviations
TDS mg/L 1,280- 1,971 1513 267 2,047
Sodium mg/L 228-477 372 112 597
Chloride mg/L 187 - 514 334 133 601
Nitrogen-N mg/1 3.7-5.5 4.4 0.7 6
43. Available groundwater quality for wells located within two miles of the site was presented in the
RWD. The depth of the wells and screened intervals are variable, and the wells were sampled at
various times between 1951 and 1979. The water quality data provides some information on the
surrounding groundwater quality. The data is summarized below:
Well ID Well Depth (ft) Year Sampled TDS (mg/L) Sodium (mg/L) Chloride (mg/L)
02SO4E26DO1M NA 1979 1,400 320 440
Cordes 290 1963 NA NA 317
02SO4E27J02M 300 1966-1969 NA 394a 352a
02SO4E28A1 294 1951 NA 390 250
0204E28A1-D 290 1958-1967 1,826 3842 243a
0204E28H1 NA 1957-1959 2,030 4322 295a
024E28P1 NA 1959 NA NA 120
02SO4E33B01 NA 1979 1,360 300 240
02SO4E33 NA 1955 2,620 682 560
02SO4E33J1-D NA 1957-1967 2,470 5982 4852
02SO4E34H1 273 1959-1967 NA 558 256a
02SO4E35D1 NA 1951 NA 360 290
02SO4E35H1 NA 1967-1979 NA 402a 333a
Average 1,915" 431" 321"
NA denotes Not Available. a Denotes value shown is an average of available data. b Denotes value calculated from all
data available in RWD(not from average values calculated from each well as shown in this table).
44. Thirteen groundwater monitoring wells were installed in March and April 2002; one existing well
was redeveloped. The locations of the monitoring wells are shown on Attachment C. The wells
were sampled in April and June(with the exception of Well MW-9 because it did not have enough
water to collect a sample). Shallow and deep zones of groundwater were identified in the
investigation. A summary of the groundwater quality data is presented below. The values shown are
an average of the two monitoring events.
Well TOC Elev. Screen Depth TDS Cl Na NO3 as N
ft. msl (ft.
