Valpico Road in
Tracy.
• 4 February 2000 Draft Interim Remediation Plan
• 2 March 1999 Groundwater Quality Monitoring Report for January 1999
• 25 August 1999 Groundwater Quality Monitoring Report for July 1999
• 2 March 2000 Groundwater Quality Monitoring Report for January 2000
I review these reports below.
Draft Interim Remediation Plan
The Draft Interim Remediation Plan(DIRP) is a conceptual design for treatment of chloroform in
groundwater. The proposed treatment system would withdraw groundwater from two extraction wells
and volatize the chloroform through manifold-mounted spray heads that discharge to a stormwater
infiltration basin. The extraction rate is expected to exceed the infiltration capacity of the basin, so B&C
proposes to discharge the excess groundwater to the adjacent irrigation canal. A National Pollutant
Discharge Elimination System (NPDES)permit is required for this discharge, and Waste Discharge
Requirements (WDRs) are required for groundwater disposal to the stormwater basin. GP submitted an
NPDES application, and is in process of submitting a WDR application.
California Environmental Protection Agency
ca Recycled Paper
