Hazelton Avenue FS Ty
Stockton, CA 95205
Re: Laura Scudders, 100 Valpico Road, Tracy, California
Background:
In September of 1987, one 10,000 gallon underground storage tank
was removed under San Joaquin Local Health District permit on the
Laura Scudders property.
At that time, samples of soil from directly under the tank,
(approximately 12 feet) , indicated a rather high amount of Total
Hydrocarbons.
Further investigation was conducted by using hand augers to gather
soil samples from a depth of 20 feet below grade. These soil samples
indicated a lack of contamination at that depth.
It was decided at that time by officials from Laura Scudders, the
contractor and the inspector from San Joaquin Local Health District
that soil would be excavated to 20 feet at which time 2 new samples
would be taken. The results of these samples are reported on Trace
Analysis Labs log #5505 as #1 South and #1 North.
Approximately 100 yards of excavated soils were stockpiled at
the west end of the facility. Three soil samples were taken from
these soil stacks. The results of these samples are reported on
Trace Analysis Labs log #5505 as PN#l, PM#2 and PS#3.
These soils have been aerated by the standards established by
San Joaquin Air Pollution Control District.
Work Scope:
The facility owners would now like to take 3 soil samples (as
indicated on drawing) . These samples will be analyze,,d/ for Benzene,
