Contamination at <br /> this site was discovered in 1986 following the removal of a UST; site investigation and <br /> remediation was performed until March 2004 when all of the groundwater monitoring and <br /> remediation wells (except SW-10 which could not be located) were destroyed under permit <br /> and inspection by the EHD. This destruction was completed at the request of the City of <br /> Stockton pending redevelopment of the property. The EHD's approval of the destruction of <br /> the monitoring wells was conditioned that, in order to continue monitoring the concentration <br /> and extent of the groundwater contamination that remains at this site, all of the wells were to <br /> be reinstalled within six months of their destruction. <br /> Treadwell & Rollo, working as your consultants on this project, recommended in the <br /> November 18, 2004 Soil and Groundwater Remediation Report 424 North Van Buren Street <br /> (Area 16) (Report) that additional groundwater characterization and monitoring be conducted <br /> at the site to determine whether additional groundwater remediation is required. Please <br /> proceed with submittal of a work plan to reinstall the groundwater monitoring wells and to <br /> continue the investigation of the petroleum hydrocarbon contamination documented at this <br /> site. The work plan is due for submittal to the EHD no later than October 3, 2008.
