Barbara Andersen
Underground Storage Tank Cleanup Fund
February 28, 1995
Page 2
2. Geological Audit Services, Inc., and
3. Raney Geotechnical
Unfortunately, in a letter dated February 21, 1995, Mike Gereghty of Raney Geotechnical
informed us that " . . . due to current staffing and active commitments, we are unable to propose
on your projects at this time."
Given the fact that we have attempted to obtain three bids, it is our position that we have
complied with the three-bid requirement and, if you do not object, will be awarding the contract
to either GEI Consultants or Geological Audit. If you should have any objection to our proposed
course of action, please let me know as soon as possible. We are bringing this matter to your
attention because we obviously wish to remain in total compliance with the rules and regulations
of the USTCF in regards to eligibility for reimbursement.
I would note that if we are required to submit the IFB to another firm, unnecessary delay
will occur which will result in fiuther expense to our clients and no action being taken to
remediate the site. In addition, we cannot guarantee that the next firm will be willing and able to
submit a proposal.
I look forward to hearing from you.
Sincerely yours,
FFREY B.
