This case does not meet all of the required criteria of the Policy.
Highlights of the case follow:
This Site is currently a parking structure and former car dealership. An unauthorized release
was reported in January 1991. Approximately 715 cubic yards of impacted soil were excavated
and disposed offsite in 2004. In addition, 40,000 gallons of contaminated groundwater were
extracted and 500 pounds of oxygen releasing (ORC)were backfilled in the excavation. Soil
vapor extraction was conducted between November 1999 and February 2001. Ozone sparging
has been conducted since June 2003. Active remediation has not been conducted at the Site
for the past 11 years. Since 1990, 12 groundwater monitoring wells have been installed and
monitored; all wells were abandoned in 2004. Due to a lack of groundwater data, we are unable
to determine If water quality objectives have been achieved.
The petroleum release is limited to the soil and shallow groundwater. According to data
available in GeoTracker, there are no public water supply wells within 1,000 feet of the defined
plume boundary. No other water supply wells have been identified within 1,000 feet of the
defined plume boundary in files reviewed. McLeod Lake is approximately 600 feet south of the
Site. The unauthorized release is located within the service area of a public water system, as
defined in the Policy. The affected shallow groundwater is not currently being used as a source
FELICIA MARCUS, CHAR I THOMAS HOWARD,EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
1001 1 Street,Sacramento,CA 95814 1 Mailing Address-.P.O.
