Chase Chevrolet - 3 - February 7, 2012
• Soil Excavation: Approximately 715 cubic yards of contaminated soil was excavated,
40,000 gallons of groundwater were extracted and 500 pounds of ORC were backfilled
into the excavation in 2004.
• In-Situ Soil Remediation: Soil vapor extraction was conducted Nov 99 through Feb 01.
• Groundwater Remediation: Air sparging was conducted Nov 99 through Feb 01. Ozone
Sparging, conducted Jun 03 through present.
General Site Conditions
• Geology and Hydrogeology: The Site is underlain by interbedded and intermixed sand,
silt and clay. The depth to groundwater is approximately 17 feet bgs and the
groundwater gradient is northerly. The closest surface water is McLeod Lake, located
approximately 1,000 feet south of the Site.
• Groundwater Trends: There are more than 14 years of groundwater monitoring data for
this Site, no data since 2004 when site wells were abandoned. Benzene trends are
shown below, source area (MW-3), near down gradient (MW-22) and far down gradient
(MW-15)
BENZENE Results for MW3
9000
8000
7900 J'
e000 /J
5000
aoo
3000
9
BENZENE
BENZENE Results for MW22
6
o0
500
2 n00
i 300
zoo.
oo: -
_--BENZENE --.Trent
BENZENE Results for MW15
7001
I wo'
000
0
moo
mo ... ......... .....
BENZENE .--Trend
