INTRODUCTION <br /> In accordance with a request fi om Mr Jeffery Setness of Hartmann & Setness, Advanced <br /> GeoEnvironmental, Inc (AGE) has prepared this Quarterly Report summarizing field activities <br /> performed during the first quarter of 1996 at 424 North Van Buren Street, Stockton, California <br /> (Figure 1 -Location Map) <br /> Field activities were performed in accordance with guidelines for investigation of underground <br /> storage tank (UST) sites established by both the Central Valley Regional Nater Quality Control <br /> Board (CVRWQCB) and the San Joaquin County Public Health Services - Environmental Health <br /> Division (PHS-EHD) <br /> 2.0. BACKGROUND <br /> 21 SITE DESCRIPTION <br /> The site occupies the city block bounded by West Fremont Street, North Van Buren Street, West <br /> Lindsay Street and North Monroe Street Prior to 1994, the site was used as a facility for Chase <br /> Chevrolet, a car dealership Two buildings and a covered paikin g area are Iocated at the site (Figure <br /> 2 - Vicinity Map) An automotive painting facility currently occupies the larger budding on the <br /> southern third of the property <br /> One 1,000-gallon gasoline underground storage tank, Tank No 7, was removed from the area north <br /> g g g g <br /> of the small buildmg in 1986 Petroleum hydrocarbons were encountered in soil below the UST The <br /> PHS-EHD required a soil and ground water investigation to assess the hydrocarbon impact at the site <br />' 22 SITE INVESTIGATION <br /> Between 1990 and 1994 four ground water monitoring wells (MW-3, MW-6, MW-7 and MW-9) and <br /> three soil borings (SB3, S134 and SB5) were drilled and installed on the site to investigate the extent <br /> of hydrocarbon-impacted soil and ground water in the vicinity of the former UST Impacted soil was <br /> detected in samples collected from each boring <br /> On 17 and 18 July 1995, 16 soil probe borings were advanced on and around the site Soil samples <br /> were collected from 5 probe borings, water samples were collected from 11 probe borings Details <br /> and results of the soil probing investigation were summarized in the Quartet ly Report -June 1995 <br />
