I <br />' Quarterly Report - Second Quarter 2002 <br /> Former CHASE CHEVROLET (Van Buren) Facility <br />' 424 North Van Buren Street, Stockton, California <br />' 1.0. INTRODUCTION <br /> At the request of the City of Stockton,Advanced GeoEnvironmental, Inc (AGE) has prepared this <br />' quarterly report documenting field activities performed at 424 North Van Buren Street (the site), <br /> Stockton, California (Figure 1) The scope of work included conducting a quarterly ground water <br />' monitoring event and preparation of this report Structures and monitoring well locations on the site <br /> and in the adjacent area are illustrated in Figure 2 Background information for the site was <br /> summarized in the AGE-prepared Corrective Action Plan - December 1996, dated 27 December <br />' 1996, Quarterly Report-May 1999,dated 30 July 1999, and Quarterly Report-First Quarter 2001, <br /> dated 30 May 2001 <br />' 2.0. PROCEDURES <br />' Field activities were performed in accordance with guidelines issued by the Central Valley Regional <br /> Water Quality Control Board (RWQCB) and by the San Joaquin County Environmental Health <br /> Department (EHD) for investigations of underground storage tank (UST) sites and sampling of <br /> lieground water monitoring wells,respectively Field procedures for the performance of ground water <br /> monitoring and sampling are described below <br /> 2 1 WELL MONITORING AND EVACUATION <br /> rOn 15 May 2002, a Solinst water level meter was used to measure the depth to ground water in <br /> twelve monitoring wells at the site and in fifteen monitoring wells at the neighboring Madison site <br /> relative to the tops of the well casings The ground water elevations(Table 1)and hydraulic gradient <br /> r (Figure 3) were determined from these data <br /> r After measurement of depths to water,casing water in each monitoring well was evacuated(purged) <br /> using a two-stage submersible purge pump or a new disposable plastic bailer The pump was <br /> decontaminated prior to purging each well using an Alconox solution and clean tap water <br /> r Temperature, pH and conductivity of the purged water were measured at regular intervals during <br /> purging using an Oakton water analyzer Approximately 5 to 14 gallons of water were removed from <br /> each well except for MW-9, from which 52 gallons of water were purged (approximately three <br /> r casing-water volumes) All purged water was stored in 55-gallon DOT-approved drums on-site Field <br /> data and field logs are included in Appendix A <br /> r <br /> rAdvanced GeoE nviron mental,Inc <br /> r <br />
