IIP-92-20
ATTACHMENT TO INITIAL STUDY
3 b. Plant/Animal life
A survey of the Natural Diversity Data Base indicates that this
site lies just outside of Swainsons Hawk (Buteo Swainsoni, Fed:
Candidate 2 ; Calif: threatened) territory no. SJ030. one medium
phase adult was observed soaring near this site on May 20, 1985.
No nest was found. As this site has been developed for since the
mid 1970s, it is unlikely that the proposed use will have a
significant impact on the Swainsons Hawk.
5 a. b. Noise
This site lies approximately 520 feet east of State Route 99 . In
1985 , the 65 CNEL noise contour was located 445 feet from State
Route 99 . However, the projected 65 CNEL noise contour for 2005 is
704 feet from State Route 99 . The applicant has estimated that
this project will produce 20 trips per day. Even if this project
were to produce 200 trips per day, the increase in noise would not
be significant relative to the freeway noise. Also, this area has
historically been used for agricultural truck traffic. Most of the
local residences have trucks and trailers in their yards. This
project is not expected to cause a significant increase in noise.
7 a. Hazards
The San Joaquin Office of Emergency Services identified this
project as being a handler of hazardous material. The Office also
indicated that the applicant is meeting the requirements of Chapter
6. 95 of the California Health and Safety Code.
Initial Study (Rev: 01/91)
9
