I - The concrete slab' s curbing will be sealed to prevent <br /> spillage of soil or water . <br /> 2 . :Soil Samples will be taKen for laboratory analysis. <br /> (Petroleum Hydrocarbon content . ) <br /> 3 . Soil will be fertilized to bring Nitrate and phosphorus ievel <br /> to at least 20 ppm and 5 ppm. Soil will be thoroughly mixed . <br /> 4. Soil will be thoroughly wetted to bring the Tield moisture <br /> level in the soil to 30 - 70 percent , <br /> tAil laboratory analysis will be made by California certified <br /> laboratories. <br /> 5. Prepare bacteria! additive, after incubation period, dilute <br /> and spray over the entire surface of the contaminated soil . <br /> G . Thoroughly mix the entire contaminated soil mass. <br /> 'l . Sprinkle the soil surface with water to maintain 30 - <br /> 70 percent moisture condition at all 'times. <br /> 8 . Repeat items 6 and 7 above on a daily basis to ensure that <br /> adequate oxygen and moisture reaches the entire mass. , <br /> 9 . TaKe samples of soii every two weeKs for iaboraiory anaiysis <br /> to determine treatment progress . <br /> Note ; Depending on the temperature, concentration of contaminant and <br /> type of soii , it is estimated that most treatment cycles will range <br /> from 2-3 weeKs in summer to 10-14 weeks in winter . <br /> !0 . When laboratory anaiysis indicates that the soil ' s petroleum <br /> hydrocarbon levei nas been reduced to meet regulatory agency <br /> acceptabvie standaros, the cleansed soil is haulLo away to its <br /> permanent resting piace , the concrete Slab wlil be reloaded as <br /> indicated above anc treated as stated in items 1-10 . <br />
