TERRA GENESIS
A California Corporation
1014 Sixteenth Street • Post Office Box 3047 • Modesto, California 95353
Telephone (209) 521-6260 • Telecopier (209) 521-5971
EPA Identification Number - CAD982040198
T40.87
December 2, 1987
Mr. Charles White, Supervising Engineer
California Department of Health Services
Toxics Division
4250 Power Inn Road
Sacramento, CA 95826
Subject: TERRA GENESIS--HAULING AND TREATMENT OF SOIL CONTAMINATED WITH
PETROLEUM HYDROCARBON SUBSTANCES.
Dear Charles:
Attached is a copy of the Terra Genesis proposal for hauling and processing
soil contaminated by petroleum hydrocarbon substances. This
industrial/agricultural treatment and disposal system has worked very
well at a site in Stanislaus County, California, where some 4,000 cubic
yards of soil was treated to the point where county staff authorized
placement of the treated material as fill material .
Terra Genesis is acquiring its EPA identification number and other permits ,
for hauling of contaminated soils. We are finalizing our insurance needs
and plan to be actively in business very soon.
The attached material is brief but covers the treatment process we plan
to use, the location of the treatment site, and how the cleansed soil
will be disposed of. We are circulating this information to the various
agencies; hopefully, we have covered them all . You indicated that you
would respond to this correspondence and provide a copy to the Alternative
Technology Section. On the San Joaquin County level , we are working
with Mr. Al Biederman, San Joaquin County Local Health District, who
will coordinate the activities at that level . If you have any questions,
please call me at 920-3518.
Sincerely,
L. A. oldenhauer
Principal
LAM:rcw
Providing services in transportation, disposal and treatment of hazardous waste materials.
