No formal applications have yet been made to either
San Joaquin County or Alameda County.
The purpose of the preapplication review is to "set the stage"
for the filing of all appropriate applications necessary to pro-
cess a New Town. This will most likely entail ( 1 ) Williamson Act
Contract Cancellation, ( 2) General Plan Amendment , and (3)
Specific Plan applications. It is not known at this point if
these applications will be filed together or one at a time .
Please review the attached material as it relates to your par-
ticular agency or interest . At this point , we are more
interested in procedural constraints or concerns in processing a
project of this size than in specific design issues. Recommended
conditions of approval would be premature at this stage.
Both San Joaquin County and Alameda County will be meeting with
the applicant in early March to go over all information we
receive as a result of this preapplication review and to
establish a recommended course of action for future processing.
If you would like more information or have any questions, please
call me. Additional referrals will be sent to you as the appli-
cation proceeds.
Attachments
KW/blm
