c. The following incompatible hazardous waste groups <br /> shall be adequately separated from each other <br /> during all handling and storage operations. <br /> Examples: <br /> (1) Cyanides shall be separated from acids. <br /> (2) Organic acids shall be separated from toxics. <br /> (3) Reactive toxic metals shall be separated from <br /> water. <br /> E. Operation at Night (facilities which operate at night) <br /> When the facility is operated during hours of darkness, the <br /> owner or operator shall provide sufficient lighting to ensure <br /> safe, effective management of hazardous wastes. <br /> F. Recycling (on-site only) <br /> If requested by the Department, in accordance with Article 12, <br /> Chapter 30, Division 4, Title 22, CCR the owner or operator <br /> shall, within 30 days, submit a written statement justifying <br /> having not recycled a waste which the Department has determined <br /> to be recyclable. <br /> G. Analysis of Waste <br /> 1. Upon the effective date of this permit, the owner or <br /> operator shall follow the written waste analysis plan as <br /> described in the approved Operation Plan. <br /> 2. a. Prior to the storage of a particular type of <br /> hazardous waste for the first time, the owner or <br /> operator shall: <br /> (1) Conduct waste analyses (e.g. , bench scale or <br /> pilot plant scale tests) ; or <br /> (2) Obtain documented information on similar <br /> storage of similar waste under similar <br /> operating conditions. <br /> b. These tests or information shall include data <br /> pertaining to the compatibility of wastes with the <br /> container used for the storage of these wastes. <br /> C. The owner or operator shall ensure that the storage <br /> of any hazardous waste will not: <br /> -13- <br />
