Hazardous Waste Program Inspn Report <br /> Home Depot Store#1006 <br /> Following the inspection, the collection containers observed during the inspection (a plastic garbage <br /> can and a 5-gallon bucket)were removed from use at the store. The tubes and lamps contained <br /> with the observed can and bucket were taken to the Central Storage Area and placed in properly <br /> labeled universal waste boxes designated for store generated universal waste tubes and lamps. A <br /> photograph showing one of these labeled boxes is enclosed for your review. <br /> 83. Failed to label universal waste to identify type of universal waste. <br /> RESPONSE: The HHM Program requires universal waste tubes to be collected in designated <br /> cardboard boxes that are properly labeled. These aspects of the HHM Program have been <br /> reviewed with affected store associates to ensure proper containerization going forward. <br /> Following the inspection, the tubes and lamps observed in the plastic garbage can and 5-gallon <br /> bucket were placed in properly labeled universal waste boxes designated for store generated <br /> universal waste tubes and lamps. Stored universal waste on site for more than 1 year or was unable to demonstrate the length <br /> of time the universal waste has been accumulated from the date it became a waste or was <br /> received. <br /> RESPONSE: The RBRC box inside the orange fixture is pre-printed with a universal waste label. <br /> The store is required to enter the accumulation start date on the line provided. This requirement <br /> has been reviewed with affected store associates to ensure proper execution going forward. A <br /> photograph showing the RBRC box with the accumulation start date filled out is enclosed. In <br /> addition, a box of rechargeable batteries was offered to UPS for shipment back to UPS on August <br /> 24, 2011. The UPS Tracking Number is 1Z7071 1W0623334879. <br /> In addition to the information presented above, the Return to Compliance Certification is enclosed. <br /> With the transmittal of this letter, it is our understanding that the alleged conditions associated with items <br /> listed above have been resolved.
