Mr.Wayne Rosenbaum
Page 3
2. Analysis of Nexframe production waste streams did not indicate hazardous waste chrome
concentrations.
3. The laboratory analysis was not duplicated and it is possible that either a laboratory analytical
error occurred or the collected sampled was exposed to chrome contamination. Since the
holding time for samples being tested for metals is six months, if the sample was retained,
the laboratory could reanalyze the sample as a means of ruling out laboratory error.
An analysis of the foregoing data indicates, in my best professional judgment, that the reported
hazardous waste level of the chrome concentration in sample Nex02 could have resulted from either
material deposited from an outside source, lab error, or inadvertent sample contamination. As the
chrome concentrations found in sample Nex02 is an order of magnitude greater than the raw material
used in the facility, developing a theory to increase the chrome concentrations found in the sample
would be technology challenging.
Sincerely,
Marvin H.
