Advanced
GeoEnvironmental, Inc.
25 January 2013
AGE-NC Project No. 12-2181
Mr. Naidu Muniappa RECID MAR 15 2013
San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department
600 East Main Street
Stockton, CA 95202
Subject: Aboveground Storage Tank Thickness Testing
MOUNTAIN VALLEY EXPRESS
1019 Bessemer Avenue, Manteca, California
Dear Mr. Muniappa:
At your request, Advanced GeoEnvironmental, Inc. (AGE) collected ultrasonic thickness
gauge measurements on 24 January 2013, from the aboveground storage tank (AST)
utilized by Mountain Valley Express (MVE) for purposes of temporary waste oil storage.
This inspection is an addendum to the AGE prepared Aboveground Storage Tank and
Secondary Containment Assessment report dated 27 August 2012.
Material thickness was gauged using an Olympus 38 DL Plus Ultrasonic Thickness
Gauge meter. Loose debris was wiped off each line of measure prior to collecting
material thickness measurements. A gel couplant, was applied to the measurement
location prior to data collection. Table 5 and Figure 4 identify collected thickness
measurements and most reasonably accessible points during the inspection.
Measurements were collected along ten lines of measure ranging between seven and
ten points. A total of eighty (80) measurement were collected between 0.108 inches
and 0.118 inches. Based upon collected data, all measured thicknesses were above
the AST manufacturer Gauge 12 thickness of 0.1046 on 24 January 2013.
Our professional services were performed using that degree of care and skill ordinarily
exercised by environmental consultants practicing in this or similar localities. Evaluation
of the conditions at the site for the purpose of this investigation was made from a limited
number of available data points (field measurements, ultrasonic thickness gauge
measurement points, etc.) and conditions may vary away from these data points. No
other warranty, expressed or implied, is made as to the professional interpretations,
opinions and recommendations contained in this report.
837 Shaw Road•Stockton,CA 95215
Telephone(209)467-1006•Fax(209)467-1118
