Facilities shall be maintained and operated to minimize the possibility of a fire, <br />explosion, or release of hazardous waste to air, soil, or surface water which could threaten human health or the <br />environment. Immediately clean the oil stains and manage according to Title 22 hazardous waste regulations. <br />Submit a statement and supporting documentation explaining how this waste was managed. <br />This is a repeat violation, Class II. <br />403 <br />CCR 66262.34(d)(2) Failed to keep hazardous waste containers closed except when adding or removing hazardous <br />waste. <br />One blue steel 55 gallon drum containing oily debris and paper filters was observed not closed. <br />One black plastic 1 gallon drum containing oil from crushed oil filters was observed with no lid. <br />All hazardous waste containers shall be closed at all times except when adding or removing waste. Immediately <br />close these containers and ensure all hazardous waste containers are closed when not adding or removing waste. <br />This is a Class II violation. <br />406 <br />CCR 66261.7 Contaminated container not marked with date emptied or managed within one year of being emptied. <br />Two black steel 55 gallon drums labeled "drain used oil and gas filters" were seen empty. Containers larger than five <br />gallons that previously held a hazardous material shall be marked with the date they were emptied and managed <br />within one year of being emptied. Immediately mark and manage all empty containers per this section. Submit a <br />statement to the EHD once this has been done. <br />This is a Class II violation. <br />601 <br />CCR 66262.34(d) Stored hazardous waste onsite greater than 180 days. <br />One blue steel 55 gallon drum containing oil debris and paper filters was observed with a start date of 7-22-2016. <br />Facilities who generate less than 1000 kg of hazardous waste per month and do not exceed 6000 kg of waste <br />stored on site at any time may store waste on site up to 180 days.
