Sample 499 Pit 1 is the sample collected from the excavation and is representative of the
contamination removed on Monday. The remaining three samples are confirmation samples collected from
the floor of the excavation. Laboratory results indicate that solvents (Method 8240 analysis) were not
detected. For the confirmation samples, gasoline (4 mg/Kg), benzene (0.009 mg/Kg), and toluene (0.006
mg/Kg) were detected in sample 500 Pit 2. The remaining two confirmation samples were ND for all
constituents.
Although the detections for the confirmation samples are not high, we would recommend that you advise
the County of your intent to backfill over the detected concentrations. The other alternative would be to
excavate additional soil.
I will be sending Tables summarizing the results and figures illustrating the sampling location.
1620 Executive Court • Sacramento, California 95864 + Tel.
