• 3003 6. ej GN.
STOCKTON STEEL
STATEMENT FOR CORRECTIVE ACTIONS TAKEN
REGARDING 2/22/05 INSPECTION
ITEM # 20 On 2/8/05 all hazardous waste containers were properly labeled with
appropriate information included. Photos of corrections were also emailed to Dina Craw
on this date.
ITEM #30 Clearwater Environmental Management the company that handles the
disposal of our hazardous wastes doesn't give us (Stockton Steel) a manifest at the time
of pick up for used oil, used antifreeze, or used oil filters, that is why we did not have
these manifests readily available in our manifest file here in Stockton. We are now aware
of the fact that these receipts/manifests for the above items are sent to our corporate
accounting department in Pleasanton and are readily available. The receipts/manifests in
question are attached.
ITEM #33 The container at the Rigging Loft for storing used oil filters was stenciled
"USED OIL FILTERS" and a "Hazardous Waste" label was put on it. A lid was also put
on the container and the individuals who maintain that area were instructed that all
containers must be kept closed and all lids in place.
ITEM #94 Stockton Steel is required to have a SPCC plan per Dennis Fields with the
EPA and on 3/16/05 the firm Entrix was hired to prepare the SPCC plan. The plan will
take approximately 1-2 months to complete and implement according to Entrix.
