0
EMPLOYEE TRAINING
All employees are required to take New Employee Orientation(NEO) 10000 Training, which includes
segments for Hazard Communication, Store/Service Safety,DOT General Awareness and Environmental
Compliance.
Employees are also required to receive annual refresher training in all four(4)segments. All training is
accessed through Pep Boys Learning Central. Training rosters can be accessed through Business
Intelligence.
EMERGENCY REPONSE, SPILL RESPONSE
Should there be a large liquid spill(typically over 10 gallons of liquid),a release(an undetermined amount
of liquid),or a threatened release the responder(store personnel)will need to take the following action.
► Determine the source of the spill or release and isolate by
either up righting the equipment or using absorbents and
absorbent socks(provided in the spill kit)to prevent
additional materials from escaping.
► Divert the spill from any drain or opening using absorbents
and absorbent socks that are provided in the spill kit.
► Cover the spilled material with an absorbent to minimize
exposure.
► After the spill has been absorbed, collect the spent
absorbent in the over-pack drum provided with the spill kit
or place the materials in another leak proof container.
In any event, the Property Management Help Desk must be contacted immediately. The Help Desk will
contact the Environmental Department, who will give additional instructions as.to notification requirements
(Fire,Police,Regulatory Agencies)and dispatch an Emergency Response Contractor to perform corrective
action. If the spill occurs after normal working hours for the Help Desk, contact the Environmental
Department by cell phone or email.
