CA0004472 <br /> NOTICE <br /> APPLICATION FOR WASTE DISCHARGE REQUIREMENTS <br /> (National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System Permit) <br /> F OR <br /> MCCORMICK AND BAXTER CREOSOTING COMPANY <br /> SAN JOAQUIN COUNTY <br /> McCormick & Baxter Creosoting Co., 1214 West Washington Street, Stockton, CA 95203, <br /> has filed a Report of Waste Discharge and applied for requirements for <br /> the discharge of wastes. <br /> McCormick & Baxter Creosoting Company has applied to the Regional Board for waste dis- <br /> charge requirements for a discharge of pollutants into state waters. Applicant dis- <br /> charges cooling water and boiler blowdown water to Mormon Slough, tributary to the San <br /> Joaquin River. Process wastewater is discharged to ponds. Beneficial uses of Mormon <br /> Slough and the San Joaquin River include: domestic, municipal, agricultural, and in- <br /> dustrial supply; recreation; esthetic enjoyment; navigation; and preservation and <br /> enhancement of fish, wildlife, and other aquatic resources. <br /> On the basis of preliminary staff review and application of lawful <br /> standards and regulations, the California Regional Water Quality Con- <br /> trol Board, Central Valley Region, proposes to issue waste discharge <br /> requirements including effluent limitations and special conditions. <br /> Persons wishing to comment upon or object to the proposed discharge <br /> requirements are invited to submit same in writing to the Regional <br /> Board no later than 19 July 1974 All comments or ob- <br /> jections received prior to the above date will be considered in the <br /> formulation of final determinations regarding the waste discharge. <br /> If no objections are received, the Regional Board will issue discharge <br /> requirements. A public hearing will be held upon request of any in- <br /> terested person. <br /> The Report of Waste Discharge, related documents, comments received, <br /> and other information are on file and may be inspected or copied at <br /> 3201 S Street, Sacramento, during normal working hours. <br /> 19 June 1974 <br /> (Date) <br />
