CVS/pharmacy: Fro• • <br />t Store Hazardous Waste Management Basics <br />Course #500146 <br />Examples of <br />Bleaches, <br />Reactives, <br />Corrosives <br />and Chlorine <br />Examples of Bleaches, Reactives, Corrosives and Chlorine are: <br />• Toilet bowl cleaners <br />• Drain cleaners <br />• Ammonia <br />• Bleach and bleach -based cleaners <br />• Hydrogen peroxide <br />• Hair coloring that contains peroxides or bleaches <br />• Laundry additives <br />• Wheel cleaners <br />• Dishwasher detergents <br />• Pool chemicals and chlorinating solutions <br />Watch for these keywords on product labels: <br />• Corrosive <br />• Toxic or poison <br />• Vapor harmful <br />• Hydrofluoric acid <br />• Oxalic acid <br />• Sodium hydroxide <br />• Reactive <br />• Chlorine <br />• Oxidizer <br />• Causes burns <br />• Avoid contact with skin or eyes <br />Examples of Electronic and Universal Waste are: <br />Examples of . If you need to dispose of any of these types of items <br />contact your Manager -on -Duty immediately. <br />Spill Clean In order to clean up spills of hazardous materials, you must be trained by CVS/pharmacy. If you <br />U are unsure whether a spilled item is hazardous, contact your Manager -on -Duty. If additional <br />Up instruction is required, contact the CVS/pharmacy Safety Hotline at 888-464-2960. <br />Handling If you are approached by an Inspector from a Regulatory Agency, you MUST immediately inform <br />Regulatory the Manager -on -Duty, as they have received additional training on how to properly handle a <br />Visits regulatory visit.
