Soil samples were
collected from the soil beneath the underground storage tanks using an
excavator to remove soil from specified locations within the tank pits.
All soil sample were collected in brass tubes which were driven into the soil
until completely full, removed, then sealed with aluminum foil and closed
with end caps. The secured sample tubes were labeled and placed in a
cooler with ice. All soil samples were collected by a Chromolab employee
and brought to their laboratory in Pleasanton, CA for analyses. All
procurement, transport and relinquishing of samples was conducted
according to Chain of Custody protocol.
Laboratory chemical analyses were performed by Chromolab
Laboratories, Inc., a California State Certified Laboratory. Chromolab
analyzed the diesel samples for TPH-D (8015) & BTEX (8020). Gasoline
samples were analyzed for TPH-G (8015) & BTEX (8020). Waste oil samples
were analyzed for TPH-G (8015), TPH-D (8015), BTEX (8020), CAM METALS
(17), PCB (8080) & CL HC (8010). The laboratory analyses are summarized
in Table 1.
Sample locations are presented in Figure 2: Site & Sample Location Plan.
Appendix C presents the laboratory results and Chain of Custody records.
3
