Technicians supervising and on-site
during maintenance of the UST system need a contractor's license or tank tester license in addition to ICC
certification and manufacturer certification.
In San Joaquin County, technicians replacing UST components including monitoring equipment, piping and
secondary containment need to obtain an approved UST retrofit permit. The technician must work under a
contactor's license.
(Jarrett Backus
Senior Registered Environmental health Specialist
San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department
600 E Main Street, Stockton CA 95202-3029
telephone: (209) 468-2986
fax: (209) 468-3433
email: gbackus(Oslcchd.com
bttp://www.4jgov.o,rg/olid/1'roLrain4/Otherm/ttnliioLl,littu
2/13/2012
