MONITORING AND RESPONSE PLAN - VA <br /> ARCO EMOUCTS COMPANY FACILITY WITH <br /> SECONDARY CONTAINMENT QE USE® OIL TANK <br /> ARCO Facility Address 2 0b Vxrnw Ao\-� Uz. <br /> S�o0kro,-�r C a . ctS Lon <br /> This plan is designed to meet the monitoring and response requirements of Section 2632- Article 3g <br /> Title 23, CCR. <br /> 1 . MONITORING EQUIPMENT <br /> The Secondarily contained used oil tank at this facility is monitored by a continuous electronic <br /> leak detection system which consists of an alarm panel, sensors and associated electronics. <br /> Liquid sensors are installed in the annular space of the tank. When required by local <br /> ordinance, probes are installed in the manhole. Whenever a sensor detects the presence of a <br /> liquid there is both a visual and audible alarm at the control panel. <br /> 2. MAINTENANCE SCHEDULE OF MONITORING EQUIPMENT <br /> The continuous electronic leak detection system will be inspected according to the <br /> manufacturer's instructions by an outside contractor once during each calendar year. <br /> 3 . ROUTINE MONITORING PROCEDURE <br /> On a daily basis the facility operator shall: <br /> A Inspect the control panel for visual and audible alarm signals to confirm that the unit <br /> is operating. <br /> B. Record the inspection observations on the Daily Visual Monitoring Log (Form APPC- <br /> 765: attached.) <br /> 4 . RESPONSE PLAN <br /> OPERATOR RESPONSIBILITIES <br /> A LEAK RECORDING AND REPORTING PROCEDURE <br /> Whenever an alarm is activated, station personnel are to immediately: <br /> a. Contact ARCO Maintenance or its designated agent by using the telephone number <br /> previously provided. <br /> b. Make an entry in the Recordable Discharge Log (Form APPC-765-1: attached) <br /> indicating the action taken. <br />
