As the tank installation progresses, fill in each applicable
inspection, testing and installation checklist item below, initialing the item as its conditions are satisfactorily met.(Refer to Installation Instructions
1 for details.)
When the checklist is complete, tear off at the dotted line and mail to:
i XERXES CORPORATION,7901 Xerxes Avenue South,Minneapolis,MN 55431.
1
INSTALLATION DATE(S)
SITE OWNER
i SITE ADDRESS
city State State Tip
Street
1 INSTALLATION CONTRACTOR
1
INSTALLATION SUPERVISOR
1
PRIOR TO INSTALLATION: Verified by:
A.Visual inspection. No evidence(holes, cracks, deep scrapes)in domes, ribs or flats of damage to the tank from physical
1 abuse or a blow from a hard object.
i B.Physical testing.Completed in accordance with current Xerxes Installation Instructions(5 psig pressurization and soap
i test).
C.Backfill material(indicate material type).
1.Pea Gravel per specification in Installation Instructions.
i 2.Crushed Gravel or Stone per specification in Installation Instructions.
3.Other(requires specific approval by Xerxes rep.)Describe:
D.Excavation hole size.Hole dimensions are correct per Installation Instructions for stable and unstable walls.
1 E.Hole conditions(select one):
1.Dry hole.Ground water elevation not anticipated to reach tank and area not subject to flooding.(Dry hole installation)
1 2.Wet hole.Ground water elevation expected to reach tank or area subject to flooding.(Wet hole installation)
F Traffic load(select one):
1.Traffic loading anticipated.(Requires deep burial per Installation Instructions.)
2.No traffic loading(Allows normal burial per Installation Instructions.)
DURING INSTALLATION: Verified by:
A.Backfill material bed is level and at 12"(300mm)minimum depth over native soil or slab prior to setting tanks in place.
B.Tanks set in place with correct spacing from wall and other tanks.
C.Deadmen and tie downs positioned and secured in accordance with Installation Instructions.(Wet hole installation)
D.Backfill material tamped and compacted to fill all voids around tank.--
E.Tank properly ballasted during backfill.(Wet hole installation only)
F Tank(s)buried at proper depth to conform to wet or dry hole;traffic or no traffic conditions.
1
1
INSTALLATION TESTING:
i A.All tanks with manways must be inspected from the inside after installation.
1.Check for backfill voids(especially around the bottom 1/3 of tank)after the first 24"(600mm)of backfill are in place by
gently tapping a blunt wooden object against the tank wall and listening for hollow sounding areas.
2.Visually inspect the tank for any signs(cracks, holes, indentations)of physical damage.
MEASUREMENT OF DEFLECTIONS:
A.All tanks must be measured to determine vertical tank deflection during installation. On manway tanks, measurements
1
are to be made inside the tank as close to the center as possible. On non-manway tanks, use the procedure described
1 below
interior diameter of tank interior diameter of tank
1 prior to backfilling. after backfilling to subgrade. Deflection
t (A) _ (B) _
r Maximum Allowable Deflections: Tank Diameter Deflection
4'
t 4
i6' 5/e"
I 8' 11/4"
r 10' 1 Yz"
Vertical deflection in excess of these values indicates improper installation and voids the tank warranty.
B.NOWMANWAY TANK MEASURING TECHNIQUE:
1 1.Using a gauge stick, measure from the tank bottom to the bottom of the fitting before backfilling.Enter the result in
_ (A)above.
2.After backfilling to subgrade, use the same gauge stick with a nail driven into it at the 1"mark,catch the nail under
1 the bottom of the tank fitting and measure to the top of the fill tube(subtract 1"to allow for the distance of the nail
from the end of the gauge stick). Now measure the distance from the bottom of the tank to the top of the fill tube.
Subtract the fill tube length measurement from the total measurement and enter the result in(B)above.
e
1
i
t
_ 1
CX 123!785
1
1
1
t
1
1
1
1
t
t
1
