Communication Procedures <br /> If hearing is impaired, the following standard hand signals will be used: <br /> Hand gripping throat: Out of air; cannot breathe <br /> Grip partner's wrist or both hands around <br /> waist: Leave area immediately <br /> Hands on top of head: Need assistance <br /> Thumbs up: OK; I'm alright; I understand <br /> Thumbs down: No; Negative <br /> 8.0. Emergency Medical Care <br /> St. Joseph's Medical Center, located at 1800 N. California St., Stockton, is <br /> approximately 8 minutes from site. A map depicting the route to this facility is <br /> attached. <br /> Local ambulance service is available by phoning 911. Their response time is 10 min. <br /> First-aid equipment is available on-site at the locations: <br /> First-aid Kit: Site Safety Officer's Truck/Vehicle <br /> Emergency eye wash: Site Safety Officer's Truck/Vehicle <br /> Other: Water hose on site <br /> Emergency medical information for substances present: <br /> Exposure Systems: Hydrocarbon Fuels, Gasoline—irritant to eyes, nose, <br /> respiration, may cause light-headed feeling, headache, <br /> nausea, staggered gate, fatigue. <br /> Dust—irritant to eyes, nose, and respiration. <br /> Heat Stress—lack of sweating, pallor, light-headed <br /> feeling, headache, staggered gate, fatigue, and/or <br /> delirium. <br /> First Aid: Hydrocarbon Fuels— Breathe fresh air, put on <br /> respirator. <br /> Dust— Breathe fresh air, put on respirator. <br /> Heat Stress—Drink small amounts of water, apply cold <br /> compresses, and find shade.
