OPW
FLOAT
Introducing the ne«v UPNN' 53VML 3" Ball Float Fent
`'aloe for faster delkery flow rate...
Federal EPA technical standards for overfill prevention of petroleum underground
storage tanks allow the use of ball float vent valves that restrict the delivery flow
when the fuel has reached a predetermined level in the UST.
An OPW 53VML Ball Float Vent Valve can be located in the vapor retum/extrac-
tor fitting of underground storage tanks.
When the UST is filled to a predetermined level, the ball float rises to seat against
the body. Vapor flow out of the tank is restricted and delivery flow rate is dramati-
cally reduced. This flow restriction is a warning to the transfer operator, or delivery
attendant so that he may take action to stop the delivery process.
All OPW 53VML 3" Series Valves
feature:
@ Faster Delivery Rate - 3" size
increases vapor flow and reduces
delivery time.
4, Ball and Stem Float Design - ball
seats properly when the liquid rises
to a predetermined level.
Duragard' Coated Body - to
provide protection against corrosion.
< Easy Installation - existing
extractor fittings are retrofittable to
3" size by removing the existing
cage and ball float.
< Easy Extraction - allows for tank
testing.
Variety of Lengths - to meet your
specific UST application.
OPW Overfill Warning Systems
should only be used on submerged
pumping systems, not suction pump
systems.
OPW Overfill Warning Systems
should only be used on Gravity Drop
systems. DO NOT use where Pump Off
Unloading is used.
Materials
Pipe nipple: steel
Coating: Duragard'
Boll: stainless steel
• DOVFfl RESOURCES COMFMNY
A
Ordering Specifications and Dimensions
Product No.
A
B
C
Example Tank Applications,
in.
mm.
in.
mm.
in.
mm.
installed as shown, fig. l
53VML-3080
11 %a'
280
8
280
3%"
92
Does not meet EPA 90% requirement
53VML-3110
M"
Y,
356_
11
298
3%"
92
Does not meet EPA 90% requirement
53VML-3120
15'/6"
381______F2
305
3%"
92
Does not meet EPA 90% requirement
53VML-3140
17%6"
432
14_
356
3%"
92
Does not meet EPA 90% requirement
53VML-3160
19'/,6'
483
16
407
3%"
92
8' dia., fiberglass and steel tanks,
single wall
53VML-3180
21 %6°
534
18
458
3%"
92
8' dia., fiberglass, double wall
P.O.
