The 60VS Series is similar to the V Series of Vapor Line Shear Valves. They are designed to break at the shear groove in the event the dispenser is dislodged, helping to pre- vent damage to underground piping. However the 60VS Series has addition- al features not found in the 60V Series. The 60VS Series has a V connection at the inlet for dispenser piping and an IVY' at the outlet end to accommodate 1 h" underground vapor lines. An air test port is also included to give access to the vapor lines without breaking pipe joints. At the dispenser inlet end, two connections are available (offering a convenience of choice for installa- tions). A connection through the top of the valve or the side may be made. A plug is shipped with the valve in order to plug off the opening not used. The mounting connection, below the shear groove, has three drilled and tapped holes for mounting to a stabiliz- bar. All 60V and 60VS models have all important mounting connection ve the shear groove as well. ..junting above the shear groove is important on vapor lines because of the use of flexible pipe above this point. The shear section must be isolated so that it is the weak point in the line.
