The cover plate should overlap the hole at least 2" on each side and should measure at <br />least 27"x27". Fastening the cover to the tank can be accomplished by punching 3/4" diameter <br />holes on 5" centers, I " from the edge. The cover should be rolled to the contour of the tank. (See <br />cover specifications drawing #2). <br />An alternate cover plate may be used and should overlap the hole at least 2" on each <br />side and should measure 24"x24". The hole may be cut to 18"x 18". Using 18 bolts, follow the <br />same procedure as mentioned on previous page. <br />Whenever authorities require, the tank may be tested by either method as follows: <br />1. After the tank has been closed, but before the excavation is filled, the tank may be <br />tested for tightness with air pressure at not less than 3 pounds per square inch and not <br />more than 5 poundsper square inch. The test pressure shall hold, without fluctuation, <br />for a period of I hour. <br />2. A Hydrostatic test may be applied, but the test pressure should be not less than 3 <br />pounds per square inch and not more than 5 pounds per square inch. <br />The operation shall be conducted with care not to damage work which is to remain in <br />place, and all existing work damaged by such operations shall be rectified promptly without <br />additional expense to the owner. <br />Every reasonable precaution is taken in the manufacture of all Glass Armor products <br />and compilation of data to assure that they comply with Bridgeport Chemical Corporation's <br />exacting standards.
