Qi <br />Part II Continued <br />I& <br />E. Tank Dimensions (Refer to Xerxes literature on gallonage). <br />1. Tank shall have nominal capacity of—gallons. <br />2. Tank shall have nominal outside diameter of—feet. <br />3. Tank shall have approximate overall length of —feet. <br />2.02 Accessories <br />A. Optional anchor straps—Provide FRP anchor straps as man- <br />ufactured by tank manufacturer. Number and location of straps <br />shall be specified in current literature by tank manufacturer. Each <br />strap shall be capable of withstanding the buoyancy load for <br />tank diameter as shown. <br />40– 4,200 lbs. 80-25,000 lbs. 120-26,000 lbs. <br />60-18,000 lbs. 100-32,000 lbs. <br />B. Manways <br />1. All manways to be flanged and 22" I.D. complete with U.L. <br />listed gaskets, bolts and covers. (30" and 36" 1. D. manways <br />are also available). <br />2. Location as shown on drawings. <br />3. Optional manway extension tubes shall be FRP and 24" long <br />for manways shown on drawings. <br />4. Each steel manway cover shall have three -4" NPT fittings <br />welded in place. <br />C. Fill Tubes <br />1. Optional tubes shall be FRP and factory installed by <br />manufacturer. <br />2. Location as shown on drawing. <br />3. Tubes shall be 4" diameter with 6" steel fitting and a 6" x 4" <br />double tapped reducer bushing. <br />D. Gauge Plates—Shall be installed under each fitting. <br />E. Heating Coils <br />1. Optional heating coils shall be installed in a separate 22" <br />manway and shall be standard item supplied by tank <br />manufacturer. <br />2. Location as shown on drawings. <br />F. Ladders—Shall be standard ladder as supplied by tank <br />manufacturer. <br />G. NPT Threaded Fittings. <br />1. All threaded fittings shall be a material of construction con- <br />sistent with the requirements of the U. L. label. <br />2. All standard thread fittings shall be half couplings and shall <br />be 4" in diameter. Reducers are to be used for smaller sizes <br />where shown and provided by contractor. <br />3. Sizes <br />Standard <br />Fill <br />4" <br />Gauge <br />4" <br />Inlet <br />4" <br />Outlet <br />4" <br />Vent <br />4" <br />Other Sizes <br />4. Suction :Line—Shall be installed by contractor on site. Return line shat' be installed by contractor. <br />H. Monitor Fittings <br />1. Tank shall have one or two test monitor fittings each con- <br />sisting of a 4" NPT fitting on the secondary tank. <br />2. Tank shall have two monitor fittings, one near each end of <br />the tank. Tanks less than 300 gallon capacity shall have one 1k, <br />monitor fitting. <br />Part III Execution <br />3.01, 3.02 Installation and Testing <br />Tanks shall be tested and installed according to current Double Wall <br />installation instructions provided with the tank. (Refer to current publi- <br />cation and include as part of specification.) <br />M M <br />Xerxes Corporation warrants that our underground storage tanks, if <br />used in accordance with our specifications and installed according to <br />our published installation instructions: <br />1. Will not fail for a period of thirty (30) years from date of orig- <br />inal purchase due to external corrosion. <br />2. Will not fail for a period of thirty (30) years from date of orig- <br />inal purchase due to internal corrosion, provided the tank is <br />used solely with or without tank water bottoms for gasoline, <br />gasohol (90% gasoline/10% ethanol mixture), 90.5% gas- <br />oline and 9.5% Oxinol-50" (4.75% methanol and 4.75% <br />GTBA mixture); DuPont EPA waiver (gasoline with 5% <br />methanol and a minimum of 2.5%cosolvent—the blend may <br />contain a maximum concentration of up to 3.7 weight per- <br />cent oxygen in the final fuel); MTBE (methyl tertiary butyl <br />ether)—gasoline with up to 209/6, by volume, of MTBE; jet fuel; <br />av-gas; kerosene; diesel fuel; motor oil; or potable water at <br />ambient underground temperatures; or used for fuel oil at <br />temperatures not to exceed 150°F. <br />3. Will not fail for a period of thirty (30) years from date of orig- <br />inal purchase due to structural failure (defined as breaking <br />or collapse) provided the installation is performed and vali- <br />dated by a qualified installation contractor and the tank is <br />used as stated above. <br />4. Will meet our published specifications and will be free from <br />material defects in materials and workmanship for a period <br />of one (1) year following date of original delivery by us. <br />If any tank(s) is to be removed from an installation, moved to another <br />location and is intended for active service at a new location, the tank(s) <br />must be recertified by Xerxes in order to maintain the warranty as orig- <br />inally extended. <br />Xerxes Corporation's liability under this warranty shall be limited to, <br />at our option, (a) repair of the defective tank, (b) delivery of a replace- <br />ment tank to the point of original delivery, or (c) refund of the original <br />purchase price, and we shall not be liable for any labor, other installa- <br />tion costs, indirect of consequential damages or other damages in <br />connection with such tanks.
