Under current Board policy, only those contractors holding one of the following classifications are properly licensed to contract solely for the installation and/or removal of underground storage tanks : General Engineering Contractors (A) - General Engineering contractors may install and/or remove underground storage tanks for any pu- ose whatsoever at any location. Plumbing Contractors (C-36) - Plumbing contractors may install and/or remove any underground storage tans that provides a ser Tice to a building. This includes storage tanks for service stations. Any other type of underground storage tank may only be installed by a General Engineering contractor (a). Limited Specialty Service Station Equipment Contractors (C61/D40) - Serrice Station Equipment contractors may install and/or remove fuel underground storage tanks at service stations or any other site up to a capacity of 20,000 gallons. A General Building (B) contractor may install and/or remove a underground storage tank only if such work is performed under contract to construct or remodel a building that houses people, animals or chattels, the work of which involves the use of three or more unrelated trades. You are not required to re -apply for the hazardous substance removal certification if you already hold this certification.
