April 8, 1997 <br /> To All Unit III Inspectors, <br /> Recently, we held an office hearing with Quik Stop Markets, Inc., regarding the need <br /> to obtain permits for all work done on the underground storage tanks and monitoring <br /> systems, this includes leak detector replacement and monitoring probe replacement. <br /> Mr. Karvelot assured me that he will have his contractor obtain permits for every <br /> facility where work is performed. The work can be performed with a permit being <br /> obtained the moment the work is done at the site (if it is a failed leak detector). In all <br /> other cases the permit should be obtained in advance (unless approved by your <br /> supervisor). <br /> Mr. Karvelot requested that a copy of every inspection report be sent to him so that <br /> he can guarantee the facility obtains compliance.
