-Emcols" New Tank L
"' i"
Competitive and environmental pres-
sures are demanding that petroleum
marketers closely monitor inventory
and integrity of storage tanks. Precise
inventory control can mean higher prof-
its and less chance of dangerous over-
fills or costly leaks.
The Emco Wheaton Tank level Mon-
itor is built to be the most precise and
trouble-free tank gauge available today.
Its state-of-the-art, high tech construc-
tion provides automatic 24-hour record
keeping and data retrieval at the push
of a button.
The Emco Wheaton Tank Level Monitor
consists of two separate parts; a con-
trol console inside the station and a
separate float -sensing probe inside the
storage tank. A single control console
can generate data from eight separate
tank probes. Inside the tank, hvo bal-
anced magnetic floats are positioned
around a hollow square tube. A counter
weighted float measures the tank's
vrater level while a second float moni.
tors product level.
Inside the hollow tube, a micro-
processor controlled Hall Effect Switch
travels along a rotating lead screw. The
s;•ritch locates the exact center of each
flrnn►'s magnetic flux field, and precisely
14etermlihes product and water levels
.!to ±.0157. All data is then noted on an
aha nufneric LCD display and/or as
a hard copy printout at the control
console.
MNRMTE. •
Unlike sonic or capacitance monitoring
concepts, the Emco Wheaton Tank
Level Monitor minimizes error induced
by natural variations to specific gravity,
temperature and physical distance.
Each probe automatically recalibrates
itself once every hour to ensure contin-
uous accuracy.
Strategically positioned sensors
compensate for temperature varia-
tions, ensuring consistent tank
readings.
Unlike most other systems, the acct'•
r-Acy of Tank Level Monitor is virtually
-ui n3lfected by changes in product
onlRosition.
.Emco,Vheatcn, Inc.
Charrjerlain Blvd.
Conneaut, OH 44030
216/599.8151
Telex: 980436 Buckeye Cout
A/85 Rev. 11/85
Maintenance
Tank Level Monitor's rugged design
ensures easy, trouble-free installation.
Underground conduit connects the
gauge to a remote console inside the
station. And because of its ingenuous
design, routine maintenance of wetted
parts is minimal. Most installations do
not require on-site calibration; however,
field calibration can be easily achieved
if installation requires. Each probe is
factory calibrated at the time of manu-
facture for specific tank installations.
Tank Level Monitor features unattended
automatic 24-hour data memory. A bat-
tery backup system ensures memory
retention in case of power failure. Con-
tinuous monitoring makes early detec-
tion of tank leaks possible. The system
provides date, time and volume records
of:
• transport fillings
• volume in gallons, inches and tem-
perature compensated gallons
• product temperature
• Nater level in inches
Features
Each probe features balanced floats,
(water and product) and "locally intelli-
gent" on -board microprocessor.
Standard control console features
include:
• Overfill Alarm
• Theft Alarm
• High Water Alarrn
• 32 Character Alpha Numeric LCD
Display
• RS232 Communication Interface for
phone modem data retrieval from
remote personal computers
• Special Data Access Code
• Printer, or Printer Port
For more information about the Emco
Wheaton Tank Level Monitor, see your
nearest Emco Wheaton electronics dis-
tributor, or call the factory direct.
Copyright 1985 EITiCO Wheaton Inc.
All rights reser,,ed.
Distributed by:
Monitor -s
Accessories,el
I
(orderr.
Part Number Description
00300-001
Tank Level Monitor
Console
00300-002
Tank Level Monitor
Console
without Printer
0006-001
6' Probe
0008-001
8' Probe
00010-001
10' Probe
Stepper Motor
' I Normal
4" Riser
Stainless Steel
I:Lar i Lead Screw
Square Tube
TO I c ' " `.
