Two compartments are provided as shown in the figure <br />"Control Panel." The right compartment contains the long <br />life battery and the left side of the panel contains the <br />lighted indicators and corresponding switches -- all of <br />which provide the operator a means to validate the condition <br />of the battery and circuits, and a means to check the sensors <br />for the presence of hydrocarbons. Obviously, since the <br />system is quiescent except during routine checking by the <br />operator, the battery life will be extremely long. Security <br />of the control unit is ensured through the use of key locks <br />on the two doors. <br />A view of the sensor unit, installed cable and the face <br />of the control panel are shown in the pages that follow. <br />
