State of California
TO P-9
Scott Hilyard
Military Department
2829 Watt Avenue
11
Wrevs• •
E
File No.: W.O.: GST 652
Contract: S&E 4496
Precision tank system test results for tanks tested at your facility, as
identified in the report(s) are attached for your use. Since the test results
indicate a leak rate of less than the allowed 0.05 gallons per hour, the systems
are considered to be "tight" and therefore eligible for permitting.
The test results should be presented to the local permitting agency -with any
other information necessary to complete the process of your obtaining an
operating permit. Monitoring Alternative No. 8 (interim monitoring alternative)
should be specified. Use of this alternative provides time to request funding
for permanent monitoring equipment in future budget years. If the local
permitting agency indicates that Alternative No. 8 is not acceptable, please
notify our office prior to choosing another alternative.
Funding available to the Office of the State Architect (OSA) in the 1986-87
fiscal year is limited necessitating that priority be given to tank testing
and remediation. OSA will be unable to fund the installation of monitoring
equipment or wells not receiving prior authorization by our office. Funds to
accomplish this are being requested by OSA in the 87-88 budget year. If your
department wishes to fund other monitoring alternatives from your budget,
please notify this office for assistance. If you do not have such funds, it
is expected that you will seek a permit that identifies Monitoring Alternative
No. 8 as your method of leak detection for the interim period allowed.
Should you have any questions or require additional
me at (916)4 343- 19, ATSS 473-5819.
RMary J.
