District Health officerCity of Tracy <br />San Joaquin County <br />San Joaquin County <br />Date of Inspection Inspector <br />Tank(s)# 1 <br />MONITORING ALTERNATIVE #8: Tank Gauging <br />ZQ <br />1ualifying status: V --'Governmental agency <br />Small business <br />Written contract for removal or replacement <br />Limited to underground storage tanks where the liquid level in the tank can be measured <br />to an accuracy of 1% of the tank volume or 50 gallons, whichever is less, when the tank <br />is half full. <br />This monitoring alternative shall include: <br />An ual precision testing on tank(s) and piping. <br />V <br />Tank gauging performed as follows: <br />V --"'Tank must be capable of being secured to prevent unauthorized inputs and <br />withdrawals. <br />V/Tank must have no inputs or withdrawals for a period of 12 hours three times <br />. per week. <br />Tank must have no inputs or withdrawals for at least a 48 hour period (2 days) <br />at the end of consecutive periods lasting up to 7 days. <br />(For example: Tank in use Monday through Friday, then locked <br />over weekend). <br />Liquid level measurements are taken at the beginning and end of the monitoring <br />periods (12 hours or 48 hours). <br />(For example: Level measured and recorded Friday night before locking <br />and again on Monday morning before opening.) <br />liquid level varies more than 1% of the tank volume or 50 gallons, which <br />ever is less, between measurements, an unauthorized release shall be assumed <br />to have occurred and shall be reported to the local agency within 24 hours, <br />as per Article 5 Sect. 2652 of the Regulations, and further evaluations shall <br />be performed to verify or disprove the variations. <br />
