Arrived at jobsite at 0700 hrs. to perform compaction testing in backfill material placed in the tank removal <br />area. At the time of our arrival, the contractor had completed placing and compacting backfill material to an <br />elevation of approximately 6.0' below Finish Grade (FG). An excavation was made to a depth of 9.0' below FG to <br />check compaction in that portion of the backfill which had been completed prior to our arrival (Test No. 4) <br />Performed nuclear density testing from the 6.0' below FG elevation to the top of the backfill at random locations as <br />material was placed. Relative compaction test results along with coresponding elevations are indicated above. For <br />test locations, please refer to the attached location map. Where test results indicated significantly less than the 95% <br />relative compaction requirement, additional compactive efforts were applied until satisfactory compaction was <br />achieved. Based on the test results compiled on this project and witnessing the earthwork operations, it is our <br />judgement that the backfill material placed in the excavation created by the tank removal was properly moisture <br />conditioned and compacted to the requirements of the project plans and specifications and the applicable chapters <br />of the 1994 UBC. Departed jobsite at 1200 hrs. <br />
