Decontamination of the tanks will be accomplished by triple <br />rinsin atter draining and flushing of product lines. Rinsate <br />will be stored temporarily in 55 gallon drums and then disposed as <br />hazardous waste by Herbst Engineering, Inc., of Sacramento.,_/, <br />3. Prior to removal, tanks will be de -gassed by the dry ice method <br />at the rate of 15 pounds per 1,000 gallon capacity. <br />4. Tanks will then be hauled by Superior Transportation Company of <br />Sacramento as nonhazardous material to Triangle, Inc., of Sacramento, <br />a licensed hazardous handler, for cutting and disposing of as scrap <br />metal. <br />5. The method of soil sampling shall be as directed by San Joaquin <br />County Health Services. Samples will be taken by Blaine Tech Services, <br />Inc., and in accordance with EPA specifications for the collection <br />of samples (i.e. brass tube, 2" diameter by 4" length.) A press fit <br />plactic end cap is fitted to the open ends. Aluminum foil is wrapped <br />over the exposed material. Samples will be preserved in ice packs <br />and delivered to Sequoia Analytical, Redwood City, California. <br />
