(TEM) completed waste stream sampling and
classification at eight SBC locations in California (SITES). The objective was to select a random sample
of sites, which would act as a representative matrix of all SBC locations, to perform waste stream
classification for the purpose of self -declaration of all water intrusion in spill buckets at all SBC facilities.
This report summarizes the sampling activities and analytical results and can act as supporting
documentation for future classification of the water intrusion waste stream as hazardous or non-
hazardous.
Samples were collected from eight (8) California facilities in total (4 Southern California, 4 Northern
California).
NORTHERN CA
1. The collected sample consisted of
8 VOAs and one 250 mL poly bottle. The sample containers were labeled, packed in ice and shipped via
overnight delivery to Sun Star Laboratories, located in Tustin, CA, to be analyzed for EPA Method 8015cc
(carbon chain), and to MBC Applied Environmental Supplies, located in Costa Mesa, CA, to be analyzed
using a DOHS Title 22 Fish Bio Assay.
SOUTHERN CA
1. Chapman Avenue, Orange, CA
At the four (4) Southern California facilities, samples were collected by simulating a static test, as there
was not enough water found in the spill buckets to collect a sample directly. The simulated static test was
conducted by filling the spill bucket with approximately 2 gallons of tap water and waiting about 15
Engineering • Environmental • Compliance - Construction
701 N.
